Know Your Supplier

Important questions to ask!
Knowing who is being invited onto your property or into your home is an important factor you never want to overlook. Below are some of the most important questions we believe you should ask to really get to know who your supplier is and how they operate. Click on a question below to see how Cato Gas & Oil handles these important issues.

Q: Do they employ their own drivers and technicians or do they use subcontractors?
Cato Gas & Oil serves customers with reliable employees who you can be trusted to deliver you heating oil and propane with pride and integrity. We provide continual training, beyond that which is required by DOT to stay current on the most recent regulations, and stay on top of the latest improvements in the HVAC equipment.

Q: Who hires, screens, and trains their staff?
Cato Gas & Oil hires, trains, and monitors all of our employees and their actions. This way we know everyone of our employees is being trained the Cato way. There are also never any issues with tracking of license renewals and we know standard hiring practices are in place. We believe there is no reason should have to worry about the trust level of the individual you allow into your home or onto your property to do service or make a delivery.

Q: What type of liability insurance do they carry in case of an accident on your property?
There are many opportunities for accidents to occur. Knowing that your supplier is covered in case of an accident or damage to your home or property are important things to consider. Cato Gas & Oil carries appropriate insurance so you don’t have to worry should we have an incident on your property.

Q: Do they have their own storage facility in case of a supply disruption?
Cato Gas & Oil has over 6 million gallons of company-owned storage, ready to provide service that meets our obligation to customers and not disrupt our supply.

Q: Do they charge you a fee to sign up and an early termination fee in case you cancel?
Many suppliers do, and sometimes these fees are charged on a per tank basis. We believe customer satisfaction is crucial to our relationship with our customers. We gladly honor our verbal agreements and don’t require signatures to lock into fixed price programs.

Q: Is the company local?
Cato Gas & Oil has been serving the Eastern Shore since 1960. We have always maintained our tradition of quality products and services…and taken pride in our ability to change with the times and think ahead. Studying the needs of the people and businesses on the Eastern Shore, we plan for the future with innovative ideas.
